Have you ever dreamed of welcoming a Bernese Mountain Dog into your home while helping preserve this beloved breed?
A guardian home is a partnership between Rooted Branch Farm and a carefully selected family. You raise one of our female Bernese Mountain Dogs as your own, while we retain breeding rights for a limited number of litters. Your dog lives full-time with your family, enjoying all the love and companionship of a family pet.
Because our program is hands-on, guardian families must be in the Knoxville area or nearby to allow for easy communication and care during breeding seasons. Typically, we retain breeding rights for four litters, usually between ages 2 and 4, with a focus on health, wellbeing, and longevity.
This program is ideal for families who want to help preserve the breed, value long-term health and temperament, want to be involved in a breeding program, and enjoy seeing their Berner’s offspring grow.
We select only two guardian families each year, ensuring close relationships with families who share our values and love for this incredible breed.
