Berner Bliss
One day, our nine-year-old daughter fell in love with a Bernese Mountain Dog and began dreaming of having one of her own. After calling breeders across the country, we were eventually blessed with the addition of “Ellie.”

Bringing Ellie home was the beginning of an unforgettable journey—one filled with hugs, smiles, and deep joy. But it wasn’t without its challenges. We often struggled to get responses from breeders, received inconsistent information about health clearances, and found it difficult to know who we could trust.

Ellie was our first Bernese Mountain Dog, and she quickly captured our hearts. That love—and the experience of navigating the adoption process ourselves—inspired us to begin a breeding program focused on two things: the long-term health of this incredible breed, and providing a professional, trustworthy, and joyful experience for adoptive families.

We started breeding in 2023 and have loved every step, from raising healthy, happy puppies to building lasting connections with the families who welcome them home. We feel a deep sense of stewardship toward the Bernese Mountain Dog and are honored to play a part in preserving and celebrating this special breed.

The "A" Team
At Rooted Branch Farm, our team is more than just caretakers—we’re a passionate family dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized Bernese Mountain Dog puppies and creating meaningful connections with adoptive families across the country.

Visionary
Amy
Amy is our farm's inspiration and tactician. She brings out the best in all of us while overseeing the numerous day-to-day chores that allow Rooted Branch to thrive. Her ability to eat anything and remain thin is rivaled only by our goats.

Captain Calamity
Landon
Landon makes sure our farm has someone to fall through floor joists, ram the work truck with a tractor, and sailor-curse PTO attachments. Known as "Sparky" by his father-in-law, we count on him to break things.

Dog Boarding Lead
Lilly
Lilly oversees our dog boarding program at our farm. She is a natural leader and brings strength to our organization. Lilly is also a master of the headlock and keeps the other employees on the straight and narrow.

Sherpa
Owen
Owen is our primary laborer and does 99% of the work at Rooted Branch. His ability to complete tasks bare foot and his disdain for showering add to his lore. Just as important is his love for serving others and his unselfish spirit.

Equestrian Lead
Kinley
Kinley brings joy and excitement to every thing she touches. We often find her cantering through fields. She oversees our emerging horse program which soon will include lessons and trail riding.

Angus Cow Director
Graham
Graham is introspective and shares an innate connection with cows. Most evenings commence with the sound of Graham calling our cows for their dinner feeding.

Egg Collection
Sawyer
Sawyer is driven, organized, and courageous. He leads our egg program and often can be found walking to and from our nesting boxes with our hens' daily contribution. He once fought a rooster named Hay-Hay with a stick.

Future CEO
Wade
Wade is our farm's greenhorn. He brings a loving spirit and kindness to Rooted Branch. His life motto is "I want to do it" which will serve him well on the Homstead.
Rooted Branch Reach
Our Berner babies are living their best lives in seven different states. You'll find our pups snuggling with their families in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Pennsylvania, and we couldn’t be more proud. One day, we hope to have a Berner in all 50 states—how cool would that be?
